So last night I went and saw Reno 911!: Miami. In a college town like this, you bet it was packed on opening night for a Comedy Central movie. There were a bunch of previews for what seems to be a year of "TV Shows Turned Box Office Money Makers." Including the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie (which had a hilarious trailer), The Simpsons Movie, and of course, the Reno 911! movie. I guess it's a good time for them to cash in, since the Simpsons has gone 18 seasons without a full-length film.
Anyway, Reno 911 was pretty good to me. It had all of the charm and personality the show holds true to, with a funny scene involving half the cast masturbating in their hotel rooms. It's made $4, 180,000 since Friday. Not bad. Two thumbs up from me if you like the show.
